Dear Parishioners, Neighbors and Friends,
As many of you may know, Pope Francis has begun a world-wide process to prepare for a Synod (Meeting) of Bishops in Rome. The first steps in that process are “Listening Sessions” that are being held in every parish around the world and are intended to be open and inclusive to hear from as many people as possible. We had our in-person Listening Session at Holy Name on November 14th. It began with prayer to the Holy Spirit, which was followed by lively discussion of 10 thought -provoking questions developed by the Vatican. Those questions focused not on complaints about what is wrong with the Church, but rather on how we can enrich and grow the Church, as we journey together into the future.
We have been asked to put those questions online so that those who could not join us in person could provide their input electronically. If you click on the link below, you will be able to see and respond to all or some of the 10 questions. All responses are anonymous.
The result of the Listening Sessions (including the responses to this online questionnaire) will be consolidated at the diocesan and national levels for forwarding to Rome.
Please feel free to share this questionnaire with friends, neighbors, and others who may be interested in having their voices heard.
Please respond as soon as you can, but by Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the latest.
Thank you and God bless you for your participation.
Fr. Larry Ryan
Pastor, HNJ Parish
